ALA President Wants Socialism In Libraries
MTFC calls for tax cuts, ILFC calls for end to teacher union cash
Friends,
We have written several emails at this point about the marxists at the American Library Association (ALA). They are the backbone of our nation’s library system, they have a ton of power and taxpayer money behind them, they fight to put drag queen story hours in libraries while trying to get Kirk Cameron events cancelled, and they elected a self-described marxist named Emily Drabinski as their president last year.
The ALA doesn’t try to hide their intentions. They are loud and proud about wanting to use the influence they have over libraries to indoctrinate our kids and that is why Freedom Caucuses have been fighting to get state and local library associations to cut all ties.
In case you still weren’t convinced of their toxic influence, Drabinksi ripped the mask completely off last week when she attended a Socialism conference in Chicago and full out said that libraries, as well as schools, need to be “sites of socialist organizing.”
WATCH:
There is no reason why our tax dollars should be funding this organization that has made their intentions known to socially engineer America’s youth. We will fight every single day to not just make that happen, but ostracize them from polite society.
Victory for landowners in South Dakota
Ever since a company called Summit Carbon Solutions filed over 100+ eminent domain lawsuits last spring against landowners in South Dakota to steal their property for a carbon capture pipeline, the South Dakota Freedom Caucus has been at the forefront of shutting it down.
The pipeline would provide no economic benefit to the people of the state, but merely exist to extract carbon from ethanol plants in Iowa and store it under the ground.
Well, we are excited to announce that the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission voted unanimously today to reject the permit for the pipeline. Property rights for now are protected. But the legislature must take action to codify protections from eminent domain into law, an effort the SD Freedom Caucus will lead. Read the SDFC’s statement here.
Illinois’ fight against the powerful teachers’ unions
Back in May, Illinois Democrats and Gov. JB Pritzker betrayed families by defunding a school choice program funded by private donations that served over 9,000 working class children. At the behest of the powerful state teachers’ unions, kids will now be stuck in failing public schools with no way out.
The decision obviously outraged the IL Freedom Caucus, but many of the legislature’s Republicans did not feel the same way. Believe it or not, 75% of Illinois House Republicans take money from the teachers’ union. It’s worse in the Illinois Senate with 88%.
Accepting money from teachers’ unions should be antithetical to the Republican Party.
That’s why the IL Freedom Caucus is now calling on the Illinois GOP to adopt a new rule banning members from accepting teachers’ union donations and immediately disqualifying any who do from the party. We will ensure that the GOP always remains the party that puts parents and children before special interests. Read the ILFC statement here.
Montana special session to cut taxes
Montana may be a conservative state, but property taxes remain way too high. Additionally, the state is on track to have nearly $1B in surplus tax revenues that special interests would love to use to grow government.
As a result, the MT Freedom Caucus is now calling for a special session of the legislature to address two areas: Enacting a taxpayer bill of rights and ensuring that the excess funds are returned to the people.
Here’s the kicker - Montana’s legislature only convenes every other year. That’s why it’s necessary to have a special session NOW rather than allow the government to hold onto that huge surplus until January 2025. Read the MTFC statement here.
Arizona and Pennsylvania fight back against new COVID mandates
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. That’s the story when it comes to the rumors that Democrat politicians may try to bring back COVID mandates that devastated our country.
In 2021, the people of Pennsylvania curbed the power of the executive branch by voting in favor of a ballot measure to give sole authority over extending a state of emergency to the legislature. The PA Freedom Caucus released a statement warning the administration of Democrat Gov. Josh Shapiro that any attempts to lock Pennsylvanians down, force them to wear a mask, or take a vaccine will immediately be shut down.
Similarly, any attempts in Arizona from the administration of Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs will also go down in flames. The AZ Freedom Caucus has already passed bills that made it impossible for any government in AZ to strip a business of its operating license during a pandemic, prohibit the forced masking of children in school, and block the government from requiring businesses to enforce any covid mandates.
Ballot measures will also be up for a vote in 2024 to significantly rein in the executive branch’s authoritarian power.
We will never let radical politicians lock you down once again.
Keep fighting,
Andy Roth
