Friends,
It was a wild week for Freedom Caucuses all over America. From Montana to Illinois, our brave legislators made national headlines taking on some of the most destructive political forces in America. They delivered wins for you - our supporters - without whom none of this would be possible.
Here’s a recap of what happened.
Montana:
The MT Freedom Caucus was in the crosshairs of the liberal media this week as their battle to ban pediatric gender mutilation received widespread national attention. Specific attention was paid to their push to censure transgender Democrat Rep. Zooey Zephyr for breaking the rules on decorum when he told them they would have “blood on their hands” for banning sex changes for children.
LGBT activists even stormed the state capitol to protest the MTFC holding Rep. Zephyr accountable for breaking the rules. National media also seized on the fact that the MT Freedom Caucus refused to use the “right” pronouns for Rep. Zephyr in their press releases. The self-righteous liberal media decided the controversy was not children getting their bodies mutilated but that the MT Freedom Caucus called a man a man.
At the end of the day, Gov. Greg Gianforte signed SB99 into law, making Montana the 15th state in America to ban this cruel act of child mutilation.
So much national attention was focused on the MT Freedom Caucus’s role in this fight that the Associated Press decided to write a piece examining the new rise of our state freedom caucuses. Key excerpt:
The majority of the 11 states with caucuses are controlled by Republican governors and Legislatures. Roth said that’s by design. The national network advises its state members to “be loud” against Republicans who have compromised on fiscal and cultural conservative principles, Roth said.
Freedom caucuses from Idaho to Pennsylvania have focused on abortion, crime and how race, gender and sexuality are navigated in schools and state offices. They’ve also frequently targeted what Roth called “corporate welfare” including tax incentives designed to lure Hollywood film productions to Wyoming.
Louisiana:
The gender madness didn’t end in Montana as the LAFC also battled the pronoun mafia this week in their attempts to protect children. The legislature held hearings on bills to ban teachers from sexualizing children in the classroom and from using a different name or pronoun for a child without the consent of the parents.
Several LGBT activists testified during the hearing including a drag queen wearing blue face who called himself “big gay baby.”
Just another week in paradise…
Illinois:
It’s been three years since COVID began and insane restrictions are still in place in many places across America. The most ridiculous example of it lately: A 16-year-old kid in Illinois failed his driving test because he refused to wear a mask. Even hospitals in Illinois have stopped requiring masks but you still have to wear one for a test to receive your driver’s license?
In response, the IL Freedom Caucus immediately called for the Secretary of State to remove this ridiculous policy. Later that same day, the government complied. The mask mandate will end this month. Freedom Caucuses will always defend your rights.
Arizona:
Democrats got especially weird in Arizona this week as a liberal lawmaker was caught on camera swiping Bibles from the House members-only lounge, calling it a “little playful commentary” for separation of church and state.
Attacks on faith like this should never be tolerated and the AZFC right away began pushing GOP leadership for consequences.
South Carolina:
Parents in South Carolina had a major victory this week as the House and Senate passed a bill to finally expand school choice in the state. It now heads to Gov. Henry McMaster’s desk for signature.
This never would have happened without the SCFC who relentlessly kept pushing the issue.
Pennsylvania:
Like South Carolina, the PA Freedom Caucus is also pushing for school choice in the Keystone State. Read this op-ed from Freedom Caucus member Rep. Joe D’Orsie calling on Gov. Josh Shapiro to follow through when he said during the campaign that “parents need to have the opportunity to put their children into the best place for them to succeed.”
Keep fighting,
Andy Roth
