Friends,
Earlier today, the Oklahoma Freedom Caucus became the 12th state to join the Network - officially launching on the front steps of the state capitol in Oklahoma City!
Joining me to help celebrate was Congressman Josh Brecheen (OK-02), a member of the House Freedom Caucus in DC.
The OK Freedom Caucus will be led by three conservative stalwarts - State Senator Shane Jett (chairman), State Senator Dusty Deevers (vice-chair), and State Rep. Jim Olsen (vice-chair). Other freedom caucus members in attendance were State Sens. Nathan Dahm and Dana Prieto.
The Federalist reported on the event.
Conservatives are “tired of woke values being shoved down our throats, even in a red state. They’re tired of Republican establishment politicians who campaign like they’re Tom Coburn, but govern like they’re Mitt Romney, ” GOP Sen. Dusty Deevers, vice chair of OKFC, said.
And the Left in Oklahoma is already calling them “extreme” simply because the voters elected more conservative candidates. From the local Fox affiliate:
House Minority Leader Cyndi Munson (D-OKC) told Fox25 the caucus doesn't come as a surprise given how the primary election went for some Republican incumbents.
"When groups like this come together, it tells me and I think it signals to all Oklahomans that the Republican caucuses are moving more to the right and possibly more extreme," Munson said.
The Blaze’s Daniel Horowitz, a great friend of the Network, shares our excitement for the new Oklahoma Freedom Caucus and expressed the urgency that is needed:
